Reminding that Egypt and Azerbaijan are historically friendly and brotherly countries, Sheikh Ali Juma said that the two countries have contributed to the development of relations and are ready to continue this activity.
Employees of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora (SCWD) in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Religious Affairs and Foundations, co-founder and member of the Board of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society Prof. Dr. Sheikh Ali met with Juma.
The meeting, which took place in the Egyptian parliament building, was attended by Deputy Chairman of the SCWRA Elshad Aliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Egypt Tural Rzayev, employees of the committee and the embassy.
Expressing greetings of Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, to the Egyptian MP, the Deputy Chairman spoke about the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt for the first time among African countries and the contribution of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani friendship group to cooperation. The deputy chairman of the committee, Sheikh Ali Juma, praised Azerbaijan’s support for the activities of our diaspora, and praised the teaching of the Azerbaijani language in three Egyptian universities. Sheikh Ali Juma was thanked on behalf of the chairman of the SCWRA for the congratulatory letter sent to the head of state on the occasion of the brilliant victory of our country in the Patriotic War as a result of the resolute policy of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the reconstruction and landscaping work carried out in our liberated lands, the deputy chairman said they wanted to see the Egyptian parliamentarian in Azerbaijan. He noted that it is important for the Egyptian MP to see with his own eyes the atrocities committed by Armenians in our liberated lands.

Emphasizing that they were very pleased with the news of the restoration of Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized territorial integrity, the MP once again congratulated our people, led by President Ilham Aliyev, on their victory in the Great Patriotic War. He said there was no doubt that lasting peace in the region would be established as a result of our country’s achievement.
Speaking about cooperation with the Azerbaijani Diaspora, the parliamentarian said that in order to spread tolerance and fight radicalism in the world, they have been working with the coordinator of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Arab countries in Egypt, researcher Seymur Nasirov for more than 20 years. Sheikh asked to convey his sincere greetings to the chairman of the SCWRA.
The Azerbaijani ambassador thanked the MP for receiving the guests and invited him to visit our country. The diplomat said they would be pleased to see the Egyptian parliamentarian in our country.
On behalf of the SCWRA, Sheikh Ali Juma was presented with a gift with the symbol “Foreign Nightingale” and the book “100 questions about Azerbaijan” in Arabic. The parliamentarian, in turn, presented a souvenir depicting the Egyptian parliament to the deputy chairman of the SCWRA and the Azerbaijani ambassador.
