On the 18th anniversary of the death of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, a monument to the great leader erected in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Istanbul was visited.
The event was attended by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, Ambassador to Turkey Rashad Mammadov, Consul General in Istanbul Narmina Mustafayeva, Chairman of Istanbul’s Sariyer Municipality Shukru Genc. Representatives of our servicemen, the Presidential Administration, the Sariyer municipality, the consulate and Azerbaijani state organizations operating in Turkey, diplomats, officials, intellectuals, media and NGOs attended.
Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, Consul General Narmina Mustafayeva, Chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation for Strategic and Social Studies, Professor Akkan Suver spoke about the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the glorious Karabakh Victory achieved by President Ilham Aliyev. They spoke about their invaluable services in the reconstruction and development.
The memory of the Great Leader was honored at the commemorative event, and wreaths and flowers were laid at the monument.
The participants of the event also visited the bust of the founder of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and laid flowers in front of it.
