Two more traits of the “omicron” strain of the dominant coronavirus in South Africa have been identified.
The report was published by The Telegraph.
Ryan Noach, chief executive of Discovery Health, the country’s largest private healthcare company, said back and throat pain had been reported in patients infected with the omicron strain.
Noach also said that the new version of the coronavirus is less dangerous.
The new SARS-CoV-2 strain was first identified on November 20 in Botswana and South Africa.
