Large ice reserves have been discovered in one of the deepest canyons on Mars.
The results of the study were published in the scientific journal Icarus.
The Mariner Valley, where the reserves were discovered, is considered a giant canyon system in the southern hemisphere of Mars. The valley is the largest canyon on all the planets of the solar system.
Scientists have long believed that a lot of ice is hidden in the darkest corners of the Mariner Valley. However, until recently, it was not possible to find unequivocal traces of their existence.
