The Netherlands has imposed a strict quarantine regime to prevent the rapid spread of the “omicron” variant of the coronavirus.
The statement came from Prime Minister Mark Rutte, APA reports quoting foreign media.
Professional sports competitions in quarantine mode will continue without fans as before. All educational institutions will be closed.
Residents are advised to work from home and not receive more than two guests a day. The only exceptions will be Christmas and New Year, as up to four guests can be received during the holidays.
