Michael Ryan, director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergency program, said he still did not know where the new strain of coronavirus came from.
It is reported by “Report” with reference to foreign media.
“It is important for us to know the origin of the virus, but it is not exceptional. But if we want to reduce the risk of the living wall collapsing again, we need to know where this wall collapsed. And now we do not know how it happened,” he said.
According to him, work is underway to study the origin of the virus, but it can take a long time, so it is not necessary to wait for a quick result.
Recall that the coronavirus began to spread in December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The World Health Organization named the infection COVID-19 on February 11, 2020, and on March 11 declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
