According to the newspaper, since the beginning of 2021, more than 3,000 fake certificates have been registered in Bavaria alone, 1,028 in Berlin and 560 in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
According to the Tageszeitung, the Berlin State Criminal Police Office reported that such forged documents were sold for between 50 and 350 euros. Fake certificates are sold on social platforms such as telegram, vatsap and eBay.
