The death toll from the coronavirus in the United States has exceeded 816,000 people.
The report, citing Anadolu, was released by Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
According to the report, the number of people infected with the virus has reached 52 million 98 thousand 940 people.
In the last 24 hours, 99 more deaths from coronavirus were registered in the country. Thus, the number of victims of the pandemic reached 816,535.
California ranks first with more than 5 million 289 thousand infections. 4,477,000 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Texas. In third place on the list is Florida with more than 3 million 907 thousand infections.
California also has the highest death toll (76,126). That number rose to 75,322 in Texas and 62,347 in Florida.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which tracks COVID-19 vaccine statistics in the United States, 77.4 percent of people aged 5 and older received at least one dose, and 65.6 percent of the population received a second dose.
The United States has the world’s highest number of coronavirus infections and deaths.
The coronavirus began to spread in December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. However, a total of 100,386 people were infected with the coronavirus in China during the pandemic, and 4,636 people died.
The World Health Organization named the infection COVID-19 on February 11, 2020, and on March 11 declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
