Illegally placed billboards on historical monuments were demolished.
The State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture regularly takes measures to protect historical and cultural monuments, prevent the placement of advertising and household facilities that do not meet the standards, damaging their artistic and aesthetic features. As a result of the measures taken, illegal intrusions on the facades, roofs and other parts of historical and architectural monuments are prevented, and historical monuments are restored to their original appearance.
As part of a pilot project to eliminate the consequences of illegal interference in historical and architectural monuments in Baku for many years, billboards and household appliances were demolished at 12 addresses.
Demolition works were carried out by the Baku City Advertising Department of the State Advertising Agency at the request of the Baku Regional Office of the State Service. Citizens and civil society representatives also cooperated and supported the implementation of the relevant work.
Such work will continue in the future. Illegal intrusions on historical and cultural monuments that damage their architectural style, appearance and artistic and aesthetic features will be identified and eliminated.
The Civil Service will continue mutually beneficial cooperation with citizens, representatives of scientific circles, various legal entities, including government agencies on relevant issues.
