Prominent researcher of the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, well-known public figure Ramiz Abutalibov was buried.
He was buried in the 2nd Alley of Honors, the report said.
The funeral was attended by family members, relatives and members of the public.
It should be noted that R. Abutalibov fell and was injured in November last year, for which he was hospitalized in Moscow. Abutalibov died in Moscow on January 1.
Ramiz Abutalibov was born on October 27, 1937 in an intellectual family. After graduating from the Azerbaijan State University (1960), he continued his education in Moscow at the All-Union Foreign Trade Academy (1971) and the Academy of Social Sciences (1984).
In 1980-1984, he worked as the head of the foreign relations department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR. Abutalibov was an employee of the United Nations Secretariat for Education, Science and Culture – UNESCO in Paris in 1971-1979, as well as in 1985-1992. In 1993-2004, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Secretary General of the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO.
Ramiz Abutalibov played a special role in researching the lives and activities of public and political figures who lived in exile after the collapse of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1920, and in finding archival documents abroad. He is the author of twelve books on these documents. Eight of them were published in Moscow, three in Baku and one in Istanbul. He is the author and publisher of four books on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict published in France in 1989-1992.
He is one of the founders of the “Azerbaijan House” association in Paris in 1989. He noted the erection of a memorial plaque to Alimardan bey Topchubashov, a monument to Azerbaijanis who died for the freedom of France in Rhodes, the restoration of the graves of several emigrant compatriots in France, the world heritage of the art of “Icheri Sheher” (2000) and “Mugam” (2003). was one of the main organizers of its inclusion in the list.
Ramiz Abutalibov has been a pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan since October 2016.
