The Kazakh government has described the situation inside the country as an attack from abroad.
The statement came from the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), RIA Novosti reported.
“The appeal from Kazakhstan states that the situation in the country is assessed as an attack by gangs trained abroad,” the report said.
“The Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) confirms that it has received a request for assistance from Kazakhstan. The appeal states that this situation is assessed as an attack by foreign-trained gangs,” the statement said.
It is reported that Kazakhstan has held consultations with members of the CSTO Collective Security Council and sent an appeal to the heads of member states to provide military assistance to the republic.
“The CSTO Collective Security Council has decided to send a collective CSTO peacekeeping force to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited period of time to stabilize and normalize the situation in the country,” the statement said.
