In Nigeria, about 100 women and children abducted by gunmen in two months have been rescued.
The statement came from Ayf Elkan, chief of police in the northern province of Zamfara, Anatolia news agency reported.
He noted that the rescued people look weak, physically weak, their clothes are torn.
According to Elkan, 19 of the rescued are infants and 21 are schoolchildren.
A day earlier, 21 schoolchildren abducted on December 31 in the Bakura district of Katsina province were rescued.
