“The United States believes that the Kazakh government is able to fight unrest on its own without the involvement of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).”
The statement came from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the report said.
“As for the CSTO. We have questions about the essence of Kazakhstan’s appeal for an ambulance, why it was made, and we are trying to get more information. Of course, the Kazakh government has the potential to properly resolve the protests, maintain law and order, and respect the rights of protesters. That’s why it’s not clear why they (Kazakhstan’s leaders – Red) need outside help, “he said.
Blinken added that the United States calls on the Kazakh authorities to respect the rights of protesters.
