Kazakh law enforcement agencies detained about 6,000 people during the riots.
The statement came from the president’s press service, TASS reports.
“Currently, 125 criminal cases have been opened, 5,800 people have been brought to the police, including a large number of foreigners,” the statement said.
It is reported that the situation has stabilized in all regions of the country, full control over the operational conditions has been restored, all administrative buildings previously occupied by law enforcement agencies have been vacated, and the work of utilities has continued.
“Kasim-Jomart Tokayev stressed that law enforcement agencies will take all necessary measures to fully restore public order and security in the country,” the press service said.
Kazakh law enforcement agencies have detained more than 5,100 people involved in riots in several regions of the country.

“So far, 5,135 people have been detained throughout Kazakhstan,” the statement said.
Acting Interior Minister Erlan Turgumbayev said on Khabar 24 that 125 preliminary investigations had been launched into the killings, violence against government officials, robbery, hooliganism and theft.
Several police officers, members of Kazakhstan’s National Guard and Defense Ministry were killed and more than 1,300 security guards were injured in the riots. This was reported by the press service of the Interior Ministry on Sunday.
“During the protection of public order and the constitutional order of the country, 16 police officers were killed, more than 1,300 police officers, employees of the National Guard and the Ministry of Defense, as well as special services were injured,” the statement said.
